HUMAN.

I am human.
I can pronounce the letter P.
I feel cold when the wind blows
And I feel warm when someone engulfs me in their embrace.
When a joke is told,
I break out into laughter,
Resounding, heaving, mucous,
My crooked teeth notwithstanding.

I am woman.
My lady petals flutter when I'm aroused.
Warm, soft and moist.
I seethe in pain at least two days a month,
I watch rivers of red flow through me and remain unharmed.
I am immortal.
My life flows into the children I bring forth,
I live through generations and generations,
My DNA is firmly ingrained in the power houses that keep you alive.
I am life, 
I am the giver of life.

I am human.
Pass me painkillers when my womb threatens to rip me apart,
Hold against her a hot compress;
She gets acutely agitated each time I deny her desire to bring forth life.
Excuse me, 
When analgesics are not sufficient to allow me to keep sitting behind this desk,
Send me flowers and dark chocolate,
Or tuck me in as I convalesce.
Then after,
Watch me climb the guava tree to pick the ripest one,
Trust me,
I should know.

I am like cotton,
As strong as it is soft.

I am woman.
Buy me silk;
Dresses and cloths,
To dazzle and glimmer because I, am a goddess,
And to wipe my tears when grey clouds possess my eyes.
I am tender.
I unfurl like petals when safe and comfortable.
My smile is fragrant,
My embrace, a homecoming.
But like a venous fly trap,
I spontaneously close up and swallow you whole,
When you become too acidic for my liking.
Treat me gently, fondly,
When I unfurl for you,
Or feel your insides crushed and masticated, like insects.
Draw me near,
When it's time to split the inheritable land,
And give me my fair share.
Because even if I gave you all the soil in the world,
You still wouldn't be able to make life like I do.

I am like cotton.
As strong as it is soft,
Your heart will flutter when I cuddle and canoodle you,
But you could stretch me miles on end,
And still,
I wouldn't strain, I wouldn't tear...
Or maybe, 
I would,
Because, I am human.
